Pediatric Dentistry

Thank you for choosing Marconi Family Dental & Specialty Group for your child’s dental care. Our pediatric dental office specializes in treating young children and adolescents. We will always strive to provide the highest quality of dental care in the most gentle, positive, and enthusiastic manner possible. We are proud to serve patients from Sacramento and the entire Central Valley.

From infancy through their teenage years, our pediatric dentists can give your kids the most up-to-date care for their smile. As babies and toddlers, you can help them establish good habits early. At all ages our emphasis is on prevention. We provide infant oral exams, tooth cleanings, fluoride, sealants and oral hygiene instruction. As your child grows and develops, we will be following how the adult teeth erupt and evaluating the need for braces or orthodontics. We strive to help children develop and enjoy a lifetime of excellent oral health. For children who need oral rehabilitation, we can provide a full range of care based on their individual needs.

The First Visit

We recommend that a child’s first visit to our pediatric dentist office occur soon after his/her first birthday or when the first tooth comes in. During this first visit, the younger children may feel most comfortable sitting on your lap during the examination. We will do everything to make the visit as happy as possible.

We will review your child’s medical and dental history before examining and cleaning his or her teeth. We will provide you with information on preventive dental care, make age related recommendations for brushing, flossing, and nutrition so that your child can enjoy a lifetime of healthy teeth. We may also provide age appropriate recommendations regarding bottle feeding, nursing, and oral habits such as thumb sucking.

For older children, in addition to an examination, we will also provide a dental cleaning and fluoride treatment. If necessary, x-rays will be taken. If any treatment is indicated, we will provide a written plan and review it with you.

We, like you, want to ensure the best possible experience for your child.
